Established in 1993, Greenwich Dance is a dance hub that drives innovation and experimentation between home-grown and international dance artists and local communities.
We believe in finding and creating inspiring spaces to make, enjoy and share dance and art; where people can move and be moved.
As an international hub for imaginative dance practice based in an important heritage building, we broker connections between artists, communities and spaces and cultivate collective approaches to the creation and promotion of dance.
With a profound commitment to our civic responsibility, we respond to the needs of the communities we serve, including the independent dance sector and our local communities in South East London, championing their right to world-class dance provision as artists, participants and audience members. We have an eclectic programme of activities including courses, classes, performances and events to engage a wide range of people in process, participation, performance and production.
Greenwich Dance is based at The Borough Hall, a Grade II listed 1930’s municipal building close to Greenwich town centre. The building consists primarily of two large halls that serve as both dance studios and venues for performances and events. In addition, there are rehearsal studios and office space - including office space for local arts organisations, creating a vibrant cultural hub in the centre of Greenwich.
