National Dance Company Wales creates dance which engages and resonates with audiences by being extraordinary and inclusive, working with the best dancers and choreographers from across the world to make dance for stages of all sizes and in unusual spaces.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Caroline Finn and building on her distinctive, theatrical style of work, we create visceral and poetic works, which reflect humanity and its rich emotional and physical experiences.
We’re passionate about cultivating new audiences and introducing people to dance for the first time as well as inspiring people who already have an existing connection to dance to explore new creativity and deepen their experience of contemporary dance.
To achieve this dynamic and varied programme, we seek out excellent artists who can connect to audiences by creating work which is both entertaining and challenging, keeping in mind the curiosity and interests of audiences in whatever we do.
All our work is underpinned by a belief that dancing is for everyone, and so when we tour we also want people to have a chance to dance with us – through workshops in schools, colleges, community settings and public spaces, and special events designed to encourage people to get dancing themselves such as our Interactive Matinees for children.
Over the past five years the Company has toured through Wales and the rest of the UK and to India, Belarus, China, France, Italy and Germany. If you’re interested in finding out more about the Company get in touch with us today to discuss your programming needs and ideas.
